Bolden turns trust into opportunity.
A pan-African membership organisation connecting leaders, entrepreneurs and institutions across industries and borders.
Individual and Institutional Membership | By invitation and selection
Bolden is built on 20 years of publishing books that showcase thought leadership across more than 60 countries. With over 10,000 profiles of thought leaders, institutions and companies, with a particular focus on Africa, we have built relationships that connect Africa with Africa and Africa with the world.
Bolden brings those relationships into a new chapter. We are appointing 20 highly knowledgeable industry ambassadors in each country, helping connect our databases and extend their reach across the continent. The potential is immense, knowledge shared across borders, relationships that open doors, collaborations that reshape industries, and deal flow that turns Africa's ambition into action.
The meaning of Bolden
To act with courage, confidence and conviction when pursuing an ambitious idea or challenge.
To create opportunity through trust and shared knowledge.
Why Bolden exists
Trust is one of the world's most valuable forms of capital, yet it rarely travels on its own.
A leader respected in one city, industry or country often has to establish their reputation again beyond it. Most business clubs are built for people still making their name: they favour size and transactional access over judgement and trusted relationships.
Bolden exists to change that, giving credible leaders a trusted place to find one another and create opportunity together.
The 20 Priority Sector Councils
Each Priority Sector Council will initially have one Founding Industry Ambassador and a selection of Founding Members.
Founding members
Bolden Africa will initially invite 100 Founding Members per country, a selection from each Priority Sector Council.
Founding members are invited directly by Bolden and its Industry Ambassadors. There is no open application.
Founding Members receive
Bolden Relationship Intelligence
Find the people across Bolden and its publishing who have the strongest reason to know one another, then create the right setting for the conversation.
Bolden in Action
Bringing remarkable people into one room is only the beginning. The value is knowing who in that room should meet.
Bolden Passport
Before you travel, see which Bolden members at your destination have chosen to be found, and request introductions before you land.
A member in Gaborone flying to Nairobi opens their Bolden Passport, selects Nairobi and their travel dates, and sees the members there who have made themselves discoverable. The same works for a Kenyan member visiting Botswana, or a South African member travelling to Dubai.
It is how trust travels with you. Your standing in one country arrives in the next before you do.
Private by design
How it works
Cross-border value does not need hundreds of members in every country. It needs the right few, visible at the right moment.
Bolden Africa: Founding Ambassadors
The book is not an afterthought. It is part of how Bolden will be launched and built.
The first 100 founding ambassadors around Africa will be interviewed soon after joining. Their profiles will appear online and on social media before the premium hardcover.
A Permanent Record of the Ambassadors Who Founded Bolden
Behind Bolden is Bolden Media, the holding company of GlobalVillage.world. Over 15 years of publishing in Africa and profiling more than 1,000 thought leaders, we have built a deep understanding of the continent and lasting relationships with its business leaders, entrepreneurs and institutions. That African foundation connects to a global community spanning more than 200 publications in over 60 countries, including the Best Of series, INNOVATE: Innovations of the World, Women of the Future, Winning the Away Game and many other curated custom publications for institutions around the world. Together, these stories form a growing library of knowledge, ideas and connections, free to read, search and share.
