AfDB signs US$10 million trade finance line with Kenya's Family Bank for SMEs
The African Development Bank and Family Bank signed a US$10 million trade finance facility in Nairobi. It is intended to fund the import needs of SMEs and local corporates in manufacturing, agriculture, healthcare, renewable energy and commerce, including women-owned businesses. Both parties link it to intra-African trade under the AfCFTA.
Why it matters
Trade finance and foreign currency access remain key constraints for Kenyan SMEs that import inputs or trade across borders.
