DP World extends Luanda terminal concession to 2051 and commits US$90 million to expansion
DP World's concession at the Port of Luanda has been extended by 10 years to 2051, and the company will invest a further US$90 million over the next two years. The quay will grow by 222 metres to 830 metres and design capacity will rise to 1.2 million TEUs. Throughput has risen from 177,000 TEUs in 2021 to more than 350,000 TEUs.
Why it matters
Longer tenure and more capacity at Angola's main container terminal support trade growth and lower vessel turnaround times for importers and exporters.
