Transnet National Ports Authority and Freeport Saldanha signed a 25-year lease on 8 October for about 55 hectares in the Southern Precinct of the Port of Saldanha Bay. Freeport Saldanha's project pipeline is valued at about R6.9 billion, covering marine services, bunkering, industrial manufacturing and energy infrastructure, including proposed LNG import and storage.
