Côte d'Ivoire lays foundation stones for 152 MWp of solar in the north

Energy Minister Mamadou Sangafowa-Coulibaly laid foundation stones for three solar plants between 22 and 24 October: Katiola Solar Power (50 MWp), Tongon (52 MWp) and AMEA Power's Binguébougou plant (50 MWp). Katiola has signed mandate letters with the EBRD and Proparco. The plants count towards a national target of 1,262 MWp of grid-connected solar by 2030.

Why it matters

It adds to a pipeline of privately developed solar in West Africa, with opportunities for lenders, contractors and suppliers.
