Competition Commission backs Dipula group's R2 billion retail property deal including six malls
The Competition Commission has recommended that the Competition Tribunal approve the purchase of six shopping centres from the Moolman Group by Luxanio, a property group ultimately controlled by JSE-listed Dipula, as part of an R2 billion transaction announced in August. The malls include Sasolburg Mall and City Centre Polokwane. The deal adds about 90,000 square metres of retail space.
Why it matters
It points to continued investor appetite for retail centres in South Africa's provincial towns and secondary cities.
