Ghana's Vitara Agritech secures US$2 million to scale traceable shea supply chains
Vitara Agritech, formerly Sommalife, raised US$2 million (EUR 1.8 million) in equity. The EU-funded AgriFI facility made the main investment, with Acumen and a network of angel investors also participating. The funding will support traceable sourcing, women producers and protection of shea landscapes in northern Ghana.
Why it matters
Traceability is increasingly required by international buyers, and this deal backs a Ghanaian processor building it into a women-led supply chain.
