Egyptian solar irrigation company NoorNation closes a US$1.05 million seed round

NoorNation, founded in 2021, closed a US$1.05 million seed round from Linah Farms, Catalyst Fund and KBW Ventures. It offers solar irrigation as a service, letting farmers pay by the hour or pay as they go instead of buying diesel pumps. Linah Group has agreed five more solar projects of about 1.13 MWp in Bahariya and West Minya.

Why it matters

Pay-per-use models can move farms off diesel without upfront capital, a barrier for many agricultural businesses.
