Namibia Breweries, WWF Namibia and Global Water Challenge sign N$13 million Swakop Basin water agreement
Namibia Breweries, WWF Namibia and the Global Water Challenge signed an agreement in Windhoek, with the City of Windhoek as partner, for a five-year, N$13 million water project in the Swakop River Basin. Planned work includes managed aquifer recharge and removal of invasive plants. The project targets about 386 million litres of annual water benefits and 153 hectares restored by 2030.
Why it matters
It is a practical model of a company investing in the water basin it depends on, in one of Africa's driest countries.
