EIB Global and Dashen Bank make €40 million available to Ethiopian SMEs
EIB Global is lending €20 million to Dashen Bank, which will match the sum, making €40 million available to Ethiopian small and medium-sized businesses. At least 70% is to go to agriculture and related activities. Priority goes to SMEs exporting to Europe and to women-led enterprises.
Why it matters
Hard-currency credit for Ethiopian exporters is scarce, and this line is aimed squarely at them.
