Spiro and ESP start Women in E-Mobility pilot in Rwanda
Electric motorcycle company Spiro and Entrepreneurial Solutions Partners have launched a Women in E-Mobility programme in Rwanda to train women as professional electric motorcycle riders and business owners. The first 50 women began training in October 2026, the first cohort of a pilot targeting 500 in Rwanda, with plans to reach 5,000 participants across Africa by 2030.
Why it matters
Women make up 4% of Rwanda's transport workers, and widening the pool of trained riders supports the commercial rollout of electric motorcycle taxis.
