Ghana opens talks with Rosatom on its first nuclear power station
President John Mahama said Ghana has started discussions with Rosatom, Russia's state nuclear corporation, on building the country's first nuclear power station. Speaking at the Third Russia-Africa Forum in Moscow, he named unreliable power as a barrier to Africa's industrialisation. No capacity, site, cost or timeline has been announced.
Why it matters
