AFG Assurances plans seven new insurance companies to double its African network
AFG Assurances, the insurance arm of Koné Dossongui's Atlantic Group, plans to set up seven new insurance companies, taking its network from seven to 14, in a partnership with Mediterrania Capital Partners announced on 3 November. The group operates in 14 African countries through 30 subsidiaries, with consolidated revenue of CFA787 billion.
Why it matters
Africa wrote about $69 billion of premiums in 2024, less than 1% of the world market, so there is room for regional insurers to grow.
