Dangote announces about US$2.5 billion for a fuel storage hub and regional pipeline in Namibia
Aliko Dangote announced an anticipated investment of approximately US$2.5 billion in Namibia at the launch of the Dangote Namibia Tank Farm and Regional Pipeline Investment at Farm 58, Walvis Bay, on 4 November 2026. The site of about 70 hectares is planned to hold 600 million litres of petroleum, 360 million litres of diesel and 240 million litres of petrol. A proposed 1,700-kilometre pipeline network from Walvis Bay would run towards Otjiwarongo, with branches towards Rundu and towards Ghanzi and Francistown in Botswana, subject to engineering studies and approvals.
Why it matters
It would make Walvis Bay a fuel supply hub for Botswana, Zambia, Zimbabwe, Malawi and the southern DRC.
