Mozambique puts logistics investment on its three main corridors at about US$7.5 billion
Opening the TRANS-LOG MOZ 2026 forum on 4 November, President Daniel Chapo said about US$4.5 billion is under way on the Nacala corridor, about US$2 billion on the Maputo corridor and over US$1 billion is earmarked for the Beira corridor. Work includes modernising the ports of Nacala and Maputo, the EN4 road, border upgrades and the Dondo dry port, with public-private partnerships, concessions and build-operate-transfer models proposed for financing.
Why it matters
The corridors carry trade for Zimbabwe, Malawi, Zambia and the DRC, so their capacity shapes export costs across the landlocked interior.
