The United States and Egypt sign a $125 million Strategic Objective Agreement
US Embassy Chargé d'Affaires Robert Silverman and Foreign Minister Badr Abdelatty signed the first bilateral Strategic Objective Agreement for Advancing Mutual Prosperity, carrying $125 million in US funding. It covers agricultural development and food security, basic and higher education, health, water security, innovation and workforce development, and aims to expand opportunities for American companies in Egypt.
Why it matters
The framework ties US funding to private-sector growth and market access, which could open partnership routes for companies working in Egypt.
